Acting for High Schoolers – Sat 10:30 to 11:30 – Winter 2018
In this class, we will explore different techniques and approaches to acting and auditioning for stage, film and TV. Through in-class scene exploration, students will learn about developing characters through motivation and objectives, as well as how to break down text of a scene. Through mock auditions, students will explore advanced self-taping techniques for TV and Film using both monologues and scenes. The students will be asked to do self-taping assignments on their own at home. At least one taping for the students will be reviewed by a casting director or professional agent or manager who will give written notes to each student. The fundamentals of working in a professional environment will also be explored.
This class will be taught by Brian Carter, a successful working actor!
