Adult Acting – Online – Summer 2020
Monologues – Scene Study – Actor's Choice!
Join Nick Sadler for a personalized summer session, in which actors can choose their focus. Journal and share quarantine experiences, craft a pandemic monologue, perform a published monologue, or dive into scene work.
Some background on our Pandemic Monologue Project:
Actors in the spring session began their work creating a play about life during a pandemic, with the actors as the playwrights. Students turned their experiences during this time of social distancing (the good, the bad, and the funny) into a compilation of monologues that we hope to share on stage, once we can all gather in public. Art always reflects what is going on in life, and we have an opportunity to find the light in dark times, the humanity behind the grim news, and the positivity to push forward—all through the powers of creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. We look forward to students continuing to create or fine-tune their pandemic monologues.
The monologues in A Chorus Line were created in this way. Other smash hits incorporating monologues include: Vagina Monologues, The Exonerated, The Laramie Project, and Working.
Location: Online, via Zoom (This app is free and user friendly!)
Tuesdays, 12 to 1:15 pm
6-week session: June 23, 30; July 7, 14, 21, 28.
