High School Acting Class and Screenplay – Fall 2020 – Virtual
Golden-Globe nominee Cynthia Gibb is thrilled to be directing the high schoolers in a virtual screenplay this fall: the iconic 80s film "Breakfast Club" will be brought to life with a brilliant cast of brainiacs, athletes, basket cases, princesses, and criminals!
Students will first learn how to prep for a role and ask the questions that are crucial to in-depth character development. They will explore how to give a grounded performance and make strong acting choices as they rehearse the screenplay. During the last three sessions, we will be "shooting" our film on Zoom. Scenes will be recorded in multiple takes to splice together the best final product, which will be shared in a private link for friends and family to view. We may plan a Zoom viewing party as well!
