Teen Dance Audition Workshop - December 19

Musical theater is back and winter auditions are coming up! Join Kim Porio for one or both of her upcoming dance audition workshops, which will focus on Modern, Jazz, and Hip Hop (yep, think Descendants: The Musical!). Kim will teach the Modern/Jazz portion, and our resident Hip Hop dancer extraordinaire, Cooper Sadler, will jump in to teach some fun hip hop moves. These workshops will focus on technique, how to follow choreography quickly, and performance skills. Acquire a competitive edge in a non-competitive and supportive environment. This intensive will take place in a spacious studio at The Spot.

Who: Teens
Where: The Spot (Just Dance)

Wear: Comfortable clothes you can move in and jazz shoes or jazz sneakers. Dancers are required to wear masks.

Kimberly Porio – Dance Teacher

Kimberly has been teaching dance for over 25 years. She began her teaching career in 1985 at A Dance Class in Wesport, CT. She then volunteered to teach several dance classes at Providence College while she studied for her BS in Marketing. Since that time, she has taught ballet, jazz, lyrical and musical theatre dance for several local schools including D’Valda and Sirico Dance Center in Fairfield, Music Theatre of CT in Wesport, and Greens Farms Academy in Westport. She was Co-Choreographer for Fairfield Ludlowe High School’s production of Rock of Ages. Her proudest performance was dancing at the Royale Theatre on Broadway in NYC for the Fortieth Annual Hoey Awards where she performed alongside Eartha Kitt, Rosemary Clooney, and Tony Bennett.
