Vocal Audition Workshop with Broadway's Paul Bogaev
Don't miss this opportunity to work with Grammy and Emmy-winning Broadway icon Paul Bogaev! Come with a musical theater cut (32 bars or less) and learn how to knock it out of the park in your next audition. Mr. Bogaev focuses on song performance, vocal technique and audition material for the shows that are being produced in theater today. He works with any musical selection, whether audition or cabaret material. Bogaev has music directed Broadway hits like Les Mis, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express, and Cats, to name a few, and the recent acclaimed Fiddler on the Roof on the West End, plus ABC's Cinderella, Emmy-winning Annie, and South Pacific. He has worked with such legends as Barbara Streisand, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Hugh Jackman, Glenn Close, Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger, Judy Dench, ABBA and many more (see full bio below).
WHEN: August 16, 1st Session 1:30 to 3:30 pm (the 1st session is FULL) and 2nd Session 3:30 to 5:30 (approx — the session time might shift slightly depending on enrollment)
FEE: $135 to participate, $65 to observe (if you will be observing class and not singing, please register at this link: Paul Bogaev Observer)
WHO: All ages and levels (younger/newer students may have the option of working their songs in a smaller group setting at the end of class). Max 11 students!

Bogaev also served as music director of the ABC-TV film musicals RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S CINDERELLA, ANNIE (EMMY AWARD) and SOUTH PACIFIC.
Among the pop, film, and theater stars with whom he has worked are with Sting, Phil Collins, Elton John, U2, ABBA, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Hugh Jackman, Glenn Close, Jennifer Hudson, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, Catherine Zeta Jones, Daniel Day- Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger and Judi Dench.
As a symphony conductor, he directed the music for Francis Ford Coppola’s presentation of the silent film epic NAPOLEON with major orchestras around the world.
As a composer, he wrote the music for BATTLE CRY, a musical commissioned for Gettysburg, and recorded his setting of The Gettysburg Address with narration by Glenn Close.
In the summer of 2016, he arranged a complete modernization of the score of OLIVER! and played the leading role of Fagin as a burned out rock and roller. Subsequently, he directed the music and played Frollo in THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.
Paul has held private master classes in song performance in New York and has also taught at Princeton, James Madison and Penn State University. He was also Artist in Residence at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
Paul most recently returned from London after serving as Music Supervisor and Director of Trevor Nunn’s acclaimed production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
